Drop-In Volunteer
Drop-in services are often the first point of entry for youth coming in off the streets. Drop-in offers an essential link to YouthCare's other services-and we need your help supporting this crucial point of contact. YouthCare's engagement centers offer meals, showers, clothing, hygiene supplies, positive activities, knowledgeable staff, and a safe and non-judgmental environment for youth. You'll provide program support in a variety of areas: play games, help serve food, hand out socks, do some laundry-a shift will look different every time you're here!

Life Skills or Activity Leader
Life skills and activity leaders facilitate engaging activities and workshops for youth in a variety of settings. You can teach life skills so youth can build healthy habits such as cooking, cleaning, hygiene, and financial literacy. Or you can introduce youth to hobbies, such as crafting, poetry, learning a language, and dance. Additional examples of positive activities include haircuts, technology and health workshops, and career planning. The possibilities are endless. Get creative about how you'd like to help youth foster positive habits and interests!

VH Clothing & Hygiene Bank Steward
All young people accessing our services deserve a dignified space to "shop" for essential items. The Clothing & Hygiene Bank Steward plays an important role by helping us sort and organize donated items for our Basement Boutique and Hygiene Center.

VH Main Office Volunteer
Whether you have time during the day or want to learn about how a nonprofit works behind-the-scenes, we need your help! At our main office, your daily tasks can range anywhere from sorting and organizing items in our Basement Boutique (our store for youth to "shop" for much-needed items) to administrative work in support of office and program operations.

VH Safe Place Response Team Volunteer
Young people in crisis often don't know where to turn. Safe Place is a program that quickly connects youth in crisis to help through a network of local businesses designated as "Safe Places." A volunteer in this program will assist the Safe Place Coordinator when responding to calls from youth who have run away or are seeking a safe place to sleep. The volunteer is expected to provide a supportive presence alongside staff through a two-person response to incoming calls.
VH Shelter Support - SSS
YouthCare's emergency shelters operate seven nights a week to serve youth in need of a safe place to stay. We need volunteers like you to help staff run the shelter, and provide compassionate and helpful assistance to youth who are utilizing the space. This position allows shelter staff to address complex situations with care and build deeper relationships with youth. Volunteer duties may vary based on client needs and occupancy.
